Duo Dufonte has a mission: to discover and share hidden treasures from Dutch music history. They combine lesser-known compositions with beloved classics.
Since their founding in 2019, harpist Hedwig Brieffies and flutist Iara de Carvalho Perillo form the enchanting Duo Dufonte. Both trained at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where they obtained their Bachelor’s degrees under respectively Erika Waardenburg (harp) and Marieke Schneemann (flute).
The duo has taken masterclasses with among others Gwyneth Wentink, Miriam Overlach, and the Borealis Trio. Their performances are a mix of refinement and curiosity.
Duo Dufonte is regularly heard at leading venues and festivals, including Klaterklanken and the National Tree Museum Gimborn. They also actively participate in competitions, where they continue to develop their musicality.
