School performances
In collaboration with Hart Haarlem, we regularly offer school performances and concerts in PHIL for students from grades 3 to 8. Visit www.hart-haarlem.nl for more information. If you want to discuss another concert for your school in PHIL, please contact us at educatie@ssphaarlem.nl.

Workshops 
Anyone can make music! Specifically for grades 5 & 6 of elementary education, we offer a program centered on making music yourself. In short workshops led by two music teachers from the World Music School, students get acquainted with three different instruments: Darbuka, ukulele, and clarinet. After the workshops, students choose their favorite instrument and play together as a class on stage for their first concert as a class orchestra!
Musical experience is not required, having fun and discovering are central to this program. The program was also developed by the World Music School.
Duration of the program: 1.5 hours
Cost of the program: €60 per 15 students.

Attending a concert with the class
Would you like to take a group of students to a concert as a teacher? Or do you want to learn more about the educational offerings of a company or organize a workshop related to attending a concert? Do you find it difficult to prepare the class for a visit to PHIL? We can help with that too. Many organizations develop educational materials for their concerts that can be effectively used as preparatory materials in the classroom. Additionally, we have also established a set of rules for during the visit. You can find those under the heading 'Rules for concert visits'.

Are you attending a concert with your class? Then we have a number of rules. We ask you to review these rules with the students beforehand. 

**For students** 

• Think of the performers: The actors and musicians are live on stage and must be able to concentrate on their performance. Save conversations with classmates or comments on what you see until after the concert and remain seated during the concert. 
• Instructions from PHIL staff must always be followed. Staff members have the authority to deny access or terminate your stay early. 
• Coats and bags must be checked at the cloakroom. 
• Eating and drinking are not allowed in either concert hall. 
• Mobile phones must be turned off before the concert.
•  Use the restroom only before the concert begins or during intermission. 
• Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building. 

**For teachers** 

• Preparation. We assume that the visit to PHIL is prepared in class and that the rules are discussed with the group. The education staff at PHIL and the group can provide support. For more information about educational programs during concerts, you can contact us at educatie@ssphaarlem.nl. 
• Supervisors. We expect one supervisor for every 15 students, and they should intervene if the rules are not followed in our building. Supervisors should sit among the students so they can intervene if necessary. 
• Latecomers may not always be admitted. It is also often very disruptive when students go to the restroom during the concert. Ensure that the group arrives at least fifteen minutes before the start.
