Christian Tetzlaff is a guest with the Dutch Chamber Orchestra as both a violin virtuoso and conductor. He performs as soloist in Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto and conducts works by Haydn and Schönberg.

Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto is one of the most beloved violin concertos. Every virtuoso has it on their repertoire, and Christian Tetzlaff is no exception. His interpretation borders on the perfect, as evidenced by his recording of this work, which was awarded the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik.

What makes this special is that Tetzlaff not only performs as a soloist but also conducts the orchestra. He leads the orchestra in Haydn's Eightieth, one of the few Haydn symphonies in a minor key. Schoenberg's Verklärte Nacht is a shimmering sensual poem for strings about unbreakable love in a moonlit nocturnal landscape.
