Pynarello
Romani
Centuries-old migration routes become audible in music. Pynarello combines traditional Roma sounds with baroque compositions by Telemann. A concert that travels through time and culture.
With Romani! Pynarello takes you on an adventurous and energetic musical journey, inspired by the ancient roads of the Romani. The journey begins in India, where the roots of Roma culture lie, and travels through the Middle East to Europe. Everywhere the Roma went, they influenced and were influenced by the local populations. Alongside traditional Roma music, Pynarello brings classical pieces by Telemann, but with a Roma glow. The German Baroque composer, deeply impressed by the fiery improvisations he heard the Romani play in the café, frequently used elements from that music in his compositions.
Pynarello lets all this richness resound together with three top soloists. Romanian cimbalom and accordion virtuoso Vasile Nedea, from the Roma culture, built an impressive career in the Netherlands after his conservatory studies in Bucharest. Here he transformed from street musician to much sought-after soloist and composer, connecting the music of the Romani with Western classical styles. Niti Ranjan Biswas brings refined rhythms to life on his tabla, an Indian percussion instrument, in a virtuosic manner. He began his musical journey in Bangladesh, where he became a popular musician at a young age. After intensive studies with grand masters in India, he developed into a renowned performer in Europe. Dutch guitarist Faifie Reinhardt is the embodiment of swing and the soul of gypsy jazz.
As (solo) guitarist in the trio of Jimmy Rosenberg, he proudly carries the surname of the legendary Django Reinhardt, whose music has won hearts worldwide and whom he honors masterfully.
