The ensemble is formed by brothers Jonathan and Lukas Schwarz on first violin and cello respectively, while Emiri Kakiuchi (second violin) and Mayu Konoe (viola) provide the middle voices.

Over the years, the Leonkoro Quartet has received numerous prestigious awards and honors, solidifying its position as one of the most sought-after ensembles of its generation. In March 2024, the Leonkoro Quartet received the Young Talent Award from Concertgebouw Amsterdam, marking the beginning of a promising collaboration.

Since spring 2024, the quartet has been under contract with the renowned label Alpha Classics. In January 2026, the album Out of Vienna was released there, featuring works by Berg, Schulhoff, and Webern.
