Martin String Quartet

The Martin String Quartet, consisting of Sam Panner (violin), Weronika Weiss (violin), Anna Meenderink (viola) and Ori Ron (cello), was founded in October 2023 at the Amsterdam Conservatoire. 

In 2024, they won first prize and the Grachten Festival Prize at the International Chamber Music Competition Gelre. The quartet made their debut in March 2025 in the Kleine Zaal of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw with a performance of Caroline Shaw's Entr'acte. 

As finalists for the Dutch Classical Talent Award, they will tour the Netherlands in spring 2027 with a programme of Beethoven, Gubaidulina and original music by Ori Ron. 

In addition to their dedication to the canonical string quartet repertoire, the Martin String Quartet has a keen interest in contemporary works. They have premiered compositions by their own cellist, Ori Ron. Each member also pursues a varied career in orchestra, chamber and solo settings and collaborates with leading ensembles in the Netherlands and beyond.
