They perform on the most beautiful stages, play for packed audiences, are part of major shows, and bring color to the sound of the most well-known artists in the Netherlands with their harmonies: the backing vocals. Their role is indispensable, but they often remain out of sight. And yet, you have probably heard or seen the trio Velvet Vox at some point. As regular voices for, among others, Jaap Reesema, Maan (2022 to 2024), and The Jimmy’s, the backing band for, among others, De Vrienden van Amstel Live, The Streamers, and The Headliner, they shine in the shadows. But who are the people behind these voices?
Especially for this performance, Judith van Drunen, Katie van Steenis, and Frederieke Kroone step into the spotlight themselves. They take you into the life of a backing vocalist and show all aspects of their profession. Expect surprising performances of songs they have sung over the years, interspersed with their favorite pop, soul, and singer-songwriter repertoire. Always with their trademark: crystal-clear multi-part harmonies.
