Velvet Vox invites you to an evening full of close harmony in an intimate live setting, where they will introduce you to their world and the magic of the profession.
They perform on the most beautiful stages, play for full audiences, participate in the biggest productions, live the "glamorous tour life," and add color to the sound of the biggest artists in our country with their harmonies: the backing vocals. Although they play an indispensable role in the musical whole, they often go unnoticed. And yet, you may have unconsciously seen the backing vocal trio 'Velvet Vox' before. As the regular voices of, among others, Jaap Reesema, Maan (2022-2024), and The Jimmy’s (the backing band behind De Vrienden van Amstel Live, The Streamers, and the Headliner), they are used to shining in the shadows. But who are the people behind these voices?
Especially for this performance, Judith van Drunen, Katie van Steenis, and Frederieke Kroone give you a glimpse into the life of a backing vocalist and take you through all aspects of their profession. They bring their own interpretations of songs they have sung as background vocals over the years, but also special performances of their favorite pop, soul, and singer-songwriter repertoire. There is one common factor: multi-part singing.
They share hilarious, touching, and surprising stories about tour life, the big shows, and the special moments in front of and behind the scenes. What is it like to work together for almost ten years, as musicians and as friends?
