With two Grammy Awards to his name, he has been at the top for forty years. In addition, he won the Victoire du Jazz in France and received the Edison Jazz Oeuvre Award in 2013. As a crowning achievement of his career, he was named a UNESCO Artist for Peace that same year.
With his distinctive mix of funk, groove, soul, and stunning technique, Marcus Miller is seen as one of the most important bassists in jazz, R&B, fusion, and soul. Bass Player Magazine ranks him among the ten most influential jazz musicians of his generation.
His characteristic bass sound resonates in countless world hits, from Bill Withers' Just the Two of Us and Luther Vandross' Never Too Much to work with Chaka Khan, Herbie Hancock, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin, George Benson, Elton John, and Bryan Ferry.
During his performances, he draws from his impressive repertoire, leaving room for his own compositions and surprising choices from his rich musical past.
