Haarlem is known worldwide as the city of organs. The city has two top organs with a monumental status: the Christian Müller organ in the Great or St. Bavo Church and the Cavaillé-Coll organ in the PHIL.

Anton Pauw is the city organist of Haarlem and the regular performer on the Christian-Müller organ in the Great or St. Bavo Church and the Cavaillé-Coll organ in the PHIL, also co-responsible for the programming of the City Organ Concerts. In the Great or St. Bavo Church, he plays the organ during the worship services of the Protestant Church Haarlem and is responsible for the content of the summer vespers series. In addition, he is the organist of the Van Covelen-Hess organ in the New Church for the Protestant Church Haarlem. Anton Pauw studied organ and church music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Piet Kee, Klaas Bolt, and Jan Boeke. As a choir conductor, he leads the Oude Bavo Cantorij, the resident choir of the Great and New Church in Haarlem. 

Sander van den Houten is the organist of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in The Hague and titular organist of the Burgwalkerk and the Broederkerk in Kampen. Sander completed his bachelor's degree at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Bas de Vroome and studied church music with Hans van Gelder, Arie Hoek, Conny de Jong, and Aart Bergwerff. He obtained his master's degree in organ at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle with Theo Jellema and his master's in carillon with Christiaan Winter and Tommy van Doorn at the Carillon School in Amersfoort. Along with Ab Weegenaar, he conducts the monthly cantata services at the Burgwal in Kampen and is also a regular accompanist for Cappella Campen, the Kampen Boys Choir, the Roder Boys Choir, the Vocal Ensemble Magnificat, and the Christian Youth Choir Jigdaljahu. 

From May through October, concerts are held on Tuesday evenings, and in July and August also on Thursday afternoons, in the Great or St. Bavo Church by renowned organists from home and abroad.
