Maarten Wilmink
Haarlem is known worldwide as the city of organs. The city has two top organs with a monumental status: the Christian Müller organ in the Great or St. Bavo Church and the Cavaillé-Coll organ in the PHIL.
Maarten Wilmink's organ studies began in 2014 with Louis ten Vregelaar, and he continued these studies in 2019 at the conservatory in Rotterdam. During his bachelor's studies there, he studied organ with Ben van Oosten and Zuzana Ferjenčíková and improvisation with Hayo Boerema, and he completed his studies in church music. His bachelor's exam in organ was graded a 10. He is currently pursuing his master's studies in Rotterdam.
In addition to his solo concerts, he performs solo with orchestras and regularly accompanies choirs and ensembles. As a church musician, he has been associated with the St. Stephanus Church in Borne since 2022, where he is appointed as organist-conductor. For the 2023-2024 period, he received a two-year appointment as organ scholar in Ratingen (Germany). He has performed multiple times during Masses that were broadcast live on NPO 2. Besides his activities as a performing musician, he is also active as a private organ teacher.
