Composer and bandleader Tijn Wybenga moves effortlessly between the worlds of jazz and electronics. During performances, he samples solos from his thirteen-piece all-star ensemble Brainteaser Orchestra and transforms them into adventurous sound sculptures.

The Brainteaser Orchestra, conducted by Tyn Wybenga, brings together thirteen leading musicians in a unique 'band of bandleaders', featuring among others Teis Semey, Kika Sprangers and Jamie Peet. Their award-winning debut album Brainteaser set the tone immediately: fresh, adventurous and boundary-pushing.

With an innovative approach – in which improvised solos are sampled and transformed into new compositions – Wybenga mixes jazz with electronics, hip-hop and contemporary classical music. A 21st-century nod to Duke Ellington.

Following performances at festivals such as North Sea Jazz Festival and Jazzahead!, the orchestra presents new work from their album Tonepool Paradox in 2026, written for the Bimhuis.

An energetic and captivating concert for lovers of adventure and new jazz.
