Janna is a true storyteller. She accompanies herself on guitar and piano, and draws inspiration from great singer-songwriters of the seventies. Her music is a mix of pop, soul, jazz, and folk.
Janna Baerends won early May the very popular TV program 'Talent Unplugged' with a stunning performance of 'She' by Charles Aznavour in the final. Host Edwin Evers, and coaches Thomas Acda, MEAU, and Douwe Bob gave Janna, along with the expert jury, the standing ovation she deserved. After this beautiful TV adventure, it's now time for Janna's first intimate theater tour.
A storyteller with Soul and Song
Janna Baerends is a 21-year-old storyteller who makes you perk up your ears with her unique songs, interpretations, and beautiful voice. Her thoughts and feelings resonate through her guitar and piano playing and warm singing voice. Inspired by songwriters from, among others, the seventies, she blends pop, soul, jazz, and folk in her own unique way.
With small performances in theaters such as DeLaMar and the Betty Asfalt Complex in Amsterdam, she touched the audience during this period with her songs about love, fear, joy, and social themes.
Debut Single 'She Knows Me Now'
Her first solo single has just been released, right after the finale of 'Talent Unplugged', and can be listened to on platforms such as Spotify. It is the fragile ballad 'She Knows Me Now (the Silent Song)' written by herself. At the moment, she is writing more new songs for her upcoming debut album.
From Intimate Shows to Big Stages
Janna will perform as the main artist in a completely sold-out AFAS Live (November 14, 2025) and also a completely sold-out Royal Theater Carré (February 25, 2026). Before she will be seen on these grand stages in Amsterdam, she will play a small number of unique and intimate theater shows in October where she will undoubtedly bring beautiful original songs and, of course, various songs that have been performed at Talent Unplugged, such as 'She', but also 'The Boxer' by Simon & Garfunkel and 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' by Frankie Valli.
