Gerard Alderliefste & Friends
Vivre!
It feels as if France is close by again when Gerard Alderliefste celebrates the French chanson together with friends. An afternoon to enjoy, sing along with, and be surprised by an eight-piece musical ensemble. Expect special musical encounters and beautiful stories from the now fourth edition of Une Belle Histoire, now renamed Vivre!.
The bond between Gerard and the song Vivre (Ma dernière volonté, 1977, Serge Reggiani) is strong. Like Michel Fugain's Une belle histoire, this number forms a golden thread through his career.
Gerard has been performing under his colorful surname for thirty years now, and in that time essentially little has changed: non, non, rien n'a changé. That song is therefore not missing from Vivre!, nor is Julien Clerc and the swinging Elle voulait qu'on l'appelle Venise. In addition, there is a refreshed setlist with beautiful French songs, Gerard's own work and impressive performances by singers Rosanne and Bregje, with repertoire from among others Lara Fabian and Pravi.
With his band Alderliefste, Gerard gained national recognition through collaborations with top artists such as Ramses Shaffy, Liesbeth List and Paul de Leeuw. This led to two top 10 hits: Laat me / Vivre and Une belle histoire / Een mooi verhaal. Both songs still rank high in the Top 2000 every year. Over the years, four albums were released and four theater tours followed.
