PHIL is located in the center of Haarlem, a stone's throw from the Grote Markt. The nearby parking garages are easily accessible from the highway, and it's a pleasant walk of less than 10 minutes from Haarlem Central Station. Tour buses can stop around the corner at the Spaarne to let your guests get on and off. That's also the place where boats can dock.

Parking advice depending on the start time of the event 

The parking garage De Appelaar is located directly next to the PHIL and De Kamp is a 5-minute walk away. However, later in the afternoon, De Appelaar quickly fills up, which can lead to a jam at the entrance of the parking garage, preventing your guests from proceeding towards De Kamp. If your event starts later in the day, we advise directing your guests straight to the parking garage De Kamp and/or Interparking at Haarlem Central.

The parking garages in the center of Haarlem, around the PHIL, are owned by the municipality and managed by Parking Service Spaarnelanden. You cannot purchase day tickets, only value cards. These are available in time units of 1 to 24 hours.  You can also order them in advance for delivery by mail if the order total is €50 or more. Please note the delivery time. 

Parking garage Station Haarlem 

Parking garage Station Haarlem is owned by Interparking and is less than a 10-minute walk from the PHIL. The garage is easily accessible, large, and often has space. Only at this garage can you make an online reservation in advance. They also offer our business guests a group discount for up to 250 vehicles; €9 instead of €12 for a 4-hour card and €22.50 instead of €30 for a day card, which is about a 25% discount. Please contact us if interested. 

Annually, our foundation presents hundreds of performances at Stadsschouwburg Haarlem and PHIL Haarlem. We have (virtually) all the technical equipment in-house, and it meets the high quality standards set by our performers. Our technicians are employed by us, and this dedicated team oversees all aspects of lighting, sound, and AV for our performances and events. Therefore, it is not necessary to engage an external party for event technology. And if you have very specific requests, we will arrange that in consultation with you. 

Due to the high number of concerts, theater performances, and events at both of our locations, we have the luxury of a fixed, in-house team of experienced hospitality staff. Our team is young, well-trained, and carefully selected for their sense of hospitality and service. Our regular caterer is Vineyard Catering. They provide a premium food concept with high service. Our corporate guests are consistently enthusiastic about the buffets, food stations, sit-down dinners, snacks, and/or break snacks. Moreover, the collaboration with Vineyard - both in preparation and during the event - is always pleasant and professional. Like PHIL, Vineyard is also Green Key Gold certified. 

For smaller receptions of up to about 150 guests, we work with Truffels Eetertainment. This Haarlem caterer is, among other things, the in-house caterer of the Teylers Museum - a location that, like us, places a high value on quality and service. 

Prefer your own caterer? That is possible in exceptional cases, provided it is a reputable party. In that case, we charge a fee for bringing in an external caterer.

PHIL is located in the center of Haarlem, just a stone's throw from the Grote Markt. There are 239 hotel rooms within a maximum of 3 minutes' walk, 291 rooms within a maximum of 10 minutes' walk, and 424 rooms on the edge of the city center. 

Walking back to your hotel after a long day of conferences through the center of Haarlem is certainly no punishment. And if you want all your guests to stay together in one hotel and let them park for free? The PHIL is easily accessible by buses, and guests can get off just 1 minute away on foot at the Spaarne.

Haarlem is compact and pedestrian-friendly: parking garages, public transport, and multiple hotels are within walking distance of the PHIL. The city also buzzes with cozy dining options, with numerous good restaurants and atmospheric cafes that will undoubtedly provide a lively evening program for your guests. 

The Foundation Stadsschouwburg and PHIL Haarlem's primary task is to get different people in Haarlem and the surrounding areas excited about experiencing performing arts together. As an organization, we have a social ambition in addition to this cultural mission.
