Everyone is surely familiar with Peter and the Wolf by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. But not everyone knows that he also composed the music for Cinderella.
In this version of Cinderella, Tina de Bruin tells the story of Cinderella in a modern setting, namely on today's schoolyard. The music, full of playfulness, humor and sweeping dances, takes Cinderella from her lonely attic room through exuberant costume parties to the radiant center of the school festival. Funny, entertaining and relatable, but also just as beautiful and emotional as the gripping music, performed with heart and soul by the fantastic Ballet Orchestra under the direction of Chloe Rooke.
