Keti Koti 2026

Come together to commemorate and celebrate: food, music, dance, and kids’ workshops

Together we take steps towards a society without racism and discrimination. Look ahead with us to the Keti Koti program on 30 June and 1 July at PHIL and the Stadsschouwburg Haarlem.

For the fourth time, we are organizing a diverse and educational program. Together we commemorate the past, celebrate freedom and bring people closer together. With extra attention for young people. The entire city is welcome to participate!

30 June – commemoration
During the day, a service takes place in the Grote or St. Bavokerk with Mariska de Jong, followed by the commemorative walk Anitri waka procession to the PHIL. In the evening, we set the tone in the Kleine Zaal of the PHIL with a powerful and moving concert by Gershwin Bonevacia, James Oesi and Djuwa Mroivili (free admission, reservation required).

1 July – celebration
In the Stadsschouwburg we celebrate freedom with a day full of culture and experience: taste the flavors of Free Heri Heri, be moved by the educational youth documentary Kinderen van Mavungu and experience the energy of the dance performance Kromanti by Fawaka Studio.
